Grandfather Mountain Scout Trail

Grandfather Mountain Scout Trail

On a warm, sunny day in June, 2005, Bob and Debbie Laney explored the Daniel Boone Scout Trail on the northeast ridge of Grandfather Mountain. This was Debbie's first trip onto the mountain. It was Bob's-oh, say, about-150th trip.

Everything was pretty- the air, the sun, the breeze, the dark evergreen trees, and Debbie.

We had a good work out on the long hike up from US Hwy 221 to Calloway Peak. Sweating was expected, and felt good after a long winter mostly indoors.

After a breezy picnic lunch on the peak, we headed back down and towards home.
